Blurred Slumbers

so close to truth
yet so far..,
riding on a dream
that fell apart
in the shoes that
walked me to hell
a ray undefined
found me soul dead
in the dark oddness
an obtuse hope
woke me up
& I walked away
never looked back...

Very powerful!

A wonderful piece. I wish you posted more often. I suppose I post too much, though.

the "yet so far" is somewhat cliche. pulls me from the poem.

hope all is well.

an obtuse hope - hope is never too clear but I think it's always there even when you don't think so. thought provoking poem.

Very nice! I love anything to do with dreams. My favorite lines-

riding on a dream
that fell apart
in the shoes that
walked me to hell

You create an eerie mood, a twilight world that is close to the truth, but yet not quite the truth. Beautiful work. I see a progression in your poems, a deepening. I like the different themes you are pursuing. :)

Mm. This is lovely - I too especially enjoy the image of "the shoes that walked me to hell." There is such movement in this small piece - I feel it dropping downward and then, unexpectedly, rising out of the depths at the end.
